Celebrating 55 years of bringing the very best in boating to the English capital, the 2009 London Boat Show returns to London ExCel on January 9th, 2009. Over 130,000 visitors are expected at the 2009 London International Boat Show which takes place at ExCel London in January. Hundreds of fascinating vessels are set to be displayed, from historic replicas to the latest in new marine technology. The purpose built Suzuki Indoor harbour provides over 1000 square metres of water, enabling visitors to the show to experience the boats in an authentic setting.

The main stage features a range of entertainment including regular performances of a stunning theatrical show (based on 'A Mermaid's Tale') featuring aerial displays, extreme acrobatics, dance and music), marine inspired catwalk collections and seminars.

23-year-old Sarah Outen, the ocean rowing world's latest recruit, is due to appear in order to give those visiting the event an insight into the world of the sport.

The show will also mark the launch of her bid to become the youngest individual to row solo across the 3,000-mile Indian Ocean.

Speaking about her appearance, Ms Outen said: "I'm thrilled to be taking part in the London International Boat Show. I'm usually standing on the other side of the stage awestruck by the tales of adventurers such as Dame Ellen McArthur or Roz Savage".

"But now it will be me up there trying to inspire others to follow their dreams."

The 2009 International London Boat Show takes place between January 10th and 18th with a press and public preview day on 9th January.
