Life insurer to offer unique, low-cost insurance product to Mass. educators.

Times are tough, but thanks to our financial stability, we are able to offer members one of the few investments their families can count on these days -- term life insurance from SBLI.

The Savings Bank Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts (SBLI) and MTA Benefits, Inc., today introduced SBLI Term Advantage, a unique term life insurance product designed specifically for members of the Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA). The product will be available for purchase beginning on January 2, 2009.

Through SBLI Term Advantage, MTA group members will have exclusive access to the lowest term rates SBLI offers and will also receive SBLI's signature "no nonsense" service, which includes free, no-obligation quotes and free advice from SBLI insurance professionals.

"We are very excited to partner with SBLI to provide our 107,000 members with the very best in family protection," said Constance T. Dery, president of MTA Benefits, which is a subsidiary of the MTA. "Throughout its century-long history, SBLI has stood by the community and its customers with an unwavering commitment to low-cost, high-quality insurance."

SBLI will place advertisements in the MTA's news magazine, MTA Today, and participate in MTA's traditional and e-marketing programs to promote the product, Dery said. The company is also planning to introduce a scholarship for the MTA.

"SBLI is proud to offer MTA members this customized product," said SBLI President and CEO Robert K. Sheridan. "Times are tough, but thanks to our financial stability, we are able to offer members one of the few investments their families can count on these days -- term life insurance from SBLI."
