It's a great opportunity to let our troops know that we support them, while getting a close-up view of what military service is all about.
Leavenworth, KS (PRWEB) December 30, 2008
At the Armed Forces Bowl on New Year's Eve, spectators will be treated to more than a good football game. As the title Partner of the Armed Forces Adventure Area, Armed Forces Insurance will ensure fans get the opportunity to learn more about the Armed Forces -- including a chance to appear in a photo-mosaic poster to send to troops thanking them for their service.
A festival designed specifically for the celebration of military service, the Armed Forces Adventure Area will feature booths from all military branches and other sponsors, with military equipment and hardware on display. The Adventure Area is free of charge and will be located outside the main entrances of the Amon G. Carter stadium the day before the Bowl (December 30) from 3-8 p.m. and on game day (December 31) from 8:30-10:30 a.m. At the AFI booth, a photographer will be available to take pictures of fans coming through the area, which will then be used to create a larger image of an American flag and an eagle using cutting edge computer technology. These large images will be made into posters and sent to troops overseas. Fans making a donation of $5 or more to an America Supports You-affiliated non-profit organization (americasupportsyou.mil) also will receive a copy of the poster.
"We expect more than 20,000 fans of the competing schools and from the local area to attend the Adventure Area, so we'll have plenty of subjects for the mosaic poster," said Tom Dials, chairman of AFI. "It's a great opportunity to let our troops know that we support them, while getting a close-up view of what military service is all about."
As the Official Insurance Partner of the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl, AFI also will serve as the co-presenting Partner of the Team Kickoff Luncheon and the presenting Partner of the 2008 Great American Patriot Award. The AFI logo will appear on the playing field's 25 yard line of this year's Bowl, which will take place on New Year's Eve in Fort Worth, Texas, at TCU's Amon G. Carter stadium.
