Despite Sagging Economy, Viamedic Reports Solid Online Sales for Erectile Dysfunction Drugs

Cialis and Viagra Post Double-Digit Increases for 2008 .

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) December 25, 2008 --Despite an increase in product cost and one of the worst economic downturns in history, erectile dysfunction (ED) prescription medications are paying huge dividends for online pharmacy Viamedic.com.

"The pattern of increased online sales for ED drugs is unmistakable for us," said Rich Bernstein, Marketing Director for Viamedic.com. "Not only are our current customers continuing to come back for reorders, but we also have a tremendous amount of new customers placing orders as well."

These numbers are right in line with those of the manufacturers of these products. Lilly states that Cialis revenue was up 21% for the third quarter of 2008, compared to the same quarter last year. Overall, revenues were up 24% through three quarters YTD, reaching $1.075 billion.

Pfizer declared that revenue for Viagra was up 13% both for the quarter and through three quarters of 2008, totaling $1.432 billion YTD.

Revenue for Levitra was flat, yet YTD revenues were up 5.5% with currency-adjusted change, and total sales were $248 million Euros through three quarters ($342.5 million U.S.).

Although many consider ED medications to be non-necessity items, men apparently think otherwise - even in the midst of challenging economic times.

Viagra and Cialis both announced price increases earlier this year. Viagra's wholesale acquisition cost (WAC) increased 9% in May, and Cialis' WAC increased 7% in August. Despite the rising cost of these products, men are sending a clear message that they are willing to pay a premium for happiness in the bedroom.

"The trend of increasing online sales of ED drugs on Viamedic really shows no signs of slowing," said Bernstein. "Cialis in particular has shown phenomenal market growth over the last few years, and Viagra is also experiencing increased sales. Levitra sales remain strong."
