Wanmo Performance Advertising, China's leading online advertising solutions provider, announced today that it has appointed Andy Fan as chief executive officer. Fan, an industry veteran, brings to Wanmo years of experience in building and managing complex Internet businesses in China. He will take over for company co-founder Micah Truman, who will assume a new role as Chairman of the Board
As CEO, Fan will be responsible for day-to-day management of the company, while Truman will concentrate his efforts on company strategy. During his tenure as CEO, Truman oversaw the company from inception to its current position as market leader in China's online performance advertising industry. "We are very lucky to have recruited Andy to Wanmo, and the board and I look forward to supporting him in every way possible as we take Wanmo to even greater heights," Truman said.
Prior to joining Wanmo, Fan was the co-founder and CEO of Mofile.com, one of China's fastest growing Web 2.0 companies that provides online file sharing services, and on advisory boards of a number of Internet startup companies including Mailu, the first recommendation engine provider in China. He started his career working in various management consulting positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Chinadotcom.
"We are delighted to have Andy take the helm as CEO," said James McGregor, a Wanmo board member and CEO of JL McGregor & Company. "His instinctive entrepreneurial sense combined with his extensive experience managing high profile relationships with multinational corporations makes him a perfect fit to manage Wanmo at this pivotal moment in the company's history."
Commenting on his new position as CEO, Fan said, "Wanmo has been incredibly successful in making it easy for brand marketers to fully harness the power of performance based advertising. I expect a greater demand for this type of targeted advertising in these challenging economic conditions, and see my skills and experience complimenting the existing management team's continued success in expanding Wanmo's value proposition."
Regarding Truman's new role as Chairman, McGregor noted, "Micah is a great entrepreneur who has built this company over the past 12 years. As as Chairman, Micah will now be able to focus on the company's strategic direction and on building stronger relationships for the company among MNCs and advertising agencies."
