Student Launches the Quest to Become the First YouTube Millionaire, and Attract the Attention of Ellen DeGeneres

A Kiwi entrepreneur aims to become the first YouTube millionaire by offering the opportunity to advertise on 10,000 videos for $100 each, at a length of 10 seconds. Nick Lowe, 22, hopes his quest will attract big-spending advertisers and Ellen DeGeneres.

Auckland, New Zealand (PRWEB) February 7, 2008 -- A 22-year-old Kiwi entrepreneur is hoping to get an interview on the Ellen DeGeneres Show - and become the first YouTube millionaire in the process - by offering the opportunity to advertise on 10,000 videos for $100 each, at a length of 10 seconds.

Nick Lowe, from Christchurch, New Zealand, set up mywebbybuddies.com after creatively thinking of a way to create fame and fortune from a simple idea. Nick said that being faced with the prospect of an uphill battle of finding ways to communicate to an A-list celebrity from the other side of the world spurred him into action: "I'd rather not be afraid to take a chance in life, because you'll never know what may come."

I'd rather not be afraid to take a chance in life, because you'll never know what may come.
Despite being from a country with a population of about 4 million. He wanted to show people that anything is possible, and that money is a type of venture that attracts attention.

Nick who is a design student, says that people can use the advertising time they buy to display an ad or logo and have a link to their own site.

"I think this will mostly appeal to businesses, and perhaps larger companies will buy up lots of advertising time to have a more prominent position."

He believes that over time the investments that have been made, will offer good value because they'll be part of an online phenomenon.

Asked what he will do with the money should he reach his $1m target, "After covering the cost of my degree and travel expenses that may arise from the interviews, I'd like to invest the rest for a secure future."
