NFL Hopeful Eric Brock Blogs About Pro Day Prep

Former Auburn Tiger strong safety training at All-Star Sports Camps in Paisley, Florida, in anticipation of Auburn University's Pro Day on March 10.

Fargo, ND (PRWEB) February 7, 2008 -- NFL hopeful Eric Brock didn't take much of a break between his final game for the Auburn Tigers in the Chick-fil-A Bowl on December 31st and the beginning of his quest to become a defensive back in the National Football League. In fact, just a week after Auburn's overtime win over Clemson, Brock started an intense nine-week training program at All-Star Sports Camps in Paisley, Florida, a proud member of the Athletic Republic. The goal: to have Eric performing at his highest level when NFL scouts visit Auburn University on March 10th.

"It took me a few days to get into the routine of a new training program," said Brock. "But, now my body has adapted to the demands of twice daily training that is going to enhance my speed and agility, while also building strength for the Pro Day tests."

Brock's routine is intended to improve his performance in standard tests like the standing long jump, vertical jump 225-pound bench press, 40-yard dash and shuttle run. In addition to the standard tests, Eric will perform position specific drills for the NFL scouts on March 10th.

Todd Robinett, Director of Sports Performance Training at All-Star Sports, is supervising Eric's training, and had this to say about the routine that he has developed for Eric: "Eric's training program has been designed to improve his running technique by increasing his stride length and stride frequency. Both of these things will be improved by using our high-speed treadmills from Athletic Republic. The program also involves using sprint cords, the Multi-Hip Machine and Plyo Press to increase his strength and power output. To help with his L-Drill and Short Shuttle we'll incorporate a lot of agility training to improve body control and the ability to accelerate, decelerate and change direction quickly."

Eric and Todd have agreed to provide a behind the scenes look at Eric's training for Pro Day on the News & Views blog at www.AthleticRepublic.com (http://athleticrepublic.com/blog/). Regular updates will feature Eric's thoughts and insights about his training as well as results from any benchmark tests leading up to Auburn's Pro Day. Todd will chime in with observations and analysis of the entire process.
