Cappex.com Announces New College Scholarship Programs

Scholarships award students with unique talents, help others pay for college visits.

Highland Park, Ill. (PRWEB) February 13, 2008 -- This month Cappex.com launches a new batch of one-of-a-kind college scholarships that will help students find, and pay for, the right college.

Cappex is a Web site that tells students which colleges want them before they apply. The latest round of awards builds on this message by encouraging students to stand out, get involved and visit colleges.

If you've got an amazing talent that lets you standout, that's great; we want to know about it. If you don't have great grades, but are a leader in your community, we want to know about it.
"Our goal is to help students find the right college. In some cases, finding the right college means finding some financial assistance," said Mike Moyer, president of Cappex.com. "Students won't find scholarships like these anywhere else."

Anyone with a free Cappex profile is eligible to apply for the scholarships. For full details visit www.cappex.com/scholarships.

The brand new Standout Talent Scholarship asks students: "What makes you stand out?" Students can post videos and photos of their amazing talents, whatever they may be, online and send them to standout@cappex.com. Students may use sites like YouTube and Flickr or their personal blog. Top submissions will be posted on the Cappex blog, and the winner will take home $1,000.

The Cappex "GPA Isn't Everything" scholarship is back. Not everyone has a 4.0 - the last winner of this scholarship didn't - but anyone can volunteer or be a leader. For this $1,000 scholarship Cappex places a priority on volunteer work, leadership and community involvement. Good grades don't hurt, but we're interested in more than that.

Cappex is giving away more College Travel Scholarships. There will be an award for February, March and April. These scholarships winners will get $500 to visit a potential college. Cappex wants you to find the college that's right for you, and you can't do that unless you set foot on campus.

"These college scholarships reward students for being themselves," said Moyer. "If you've got an amazing talent that lets you standout, that's great; we want to know about it. If you don't have great grades, but are a leader in your community, we want to know about it."

The deadline to apply for the GPA and Standout scholarships is Nov. 30. Winners will be announced on the Cappex blog. Anyone with a free Cappex profile is eligible to apply. Full details are available at www.cappex.com/scholarships.
