Orland Park, IL (PRWEB) February 14, 2008 -- IdeaCafe.com, an online small business resource, announces its latest Idea Café Small Business Grant competition for small business entrepreneurs. The winner will receive a check for $1,000 and recognition on IdeaCafe.com, which is viewed by 100,000 unique visitors per month.

Applicants must be an established small business or a start-up ready to launch. There is no fee or required purchase to apply for the grant; applicants simply need to sign up at Idea Cafe. Deadline for applying is April 1, 2008. A full description of the grant can be found online in Idea Cafe's Small Business Grant Center.

"We believe in helping deserving entrepreneurs who might need that one big break to start realizing their potential," explains Francie Ward, founder and editor-in-chief of Idea Cafe. "Our current grant is is dedicated to the memory of Idea Cafe's late guest expert Kent Capener. Kent was known for his straightforward advice, which he dished out with generosity and humor here at Idea Cafe for nearly a decade."

Idea Cafe's Small Business Grant program began in 2001. Many previous winners of Idea Cafe's Grant achieved notable success after using Idea Cafe's award to help build their small companies. Among them are Percy Marchand, of Marchand Ink in New Orleans, Louisiana, who was recently a featured guest on PBS-TV's Nightly Business Report's program on minority entrepreneurs, and Debra LaPorte, of YourSafeChild.com, who grew her business from her basement to distribute child safety kits through police, FBI and other sources nationwide. Their stories about how they used Idea Cafe's Small Business Grant, plus their advice for other entrepreneurs are online at Idea Cafe.

IdeaCafe.com has been online continuously since August, 1995 and is known for its trademark "Fun Approach to Serious Business(sm)." Idea Cafe® is now part of the DevStart Network, a leading information center in the small business, website promotion, domain name and web hosting industries.
