The Bourne Report Radio Show Kicks off its Listener's Challenge

Pick a random item from everyday life and challenge Marlene Bourne, host of The Bourne Report, to find the MEMS or nanotech connection. The new talk radio show airs Sundays at 3 PM on Independent 1310 KXAM in Phoenix and streams live on the Internet to a global audience.

Scottsdale, Ariz. (PRWEB) February 20, 2008 -- The Bourne Report, a weekly talk radio show that focuses on nanotechnology and MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical systems), officially kicked off its Listener's Challenge this week. Listeners are being asked to pick a random item from everyday life and challenge host Marlene Bourne to find the MEMS or nanotech connection. Some of the challenge items submitted and scheduled to be addressed include diapers, bakeware, bullet-proof vests and keys.

"The listener's challenge is meant to get people thinking about how emerging technologies are changing the things we generally take for granted," said Marlene Bourne, the show's host. "It's not only a great way to learn the 'who, what, why, when, where and how' of MEMS and nanotechnology, but to personalize the impact these technologies are having today."

It's not only a great way to learn the 'who, what, why, when, where and how' of MEMS and nanotechnology, but to personalize the impact these technologies are having today.
The Bourne Report has already taken a look at a diverse range of topics, from diamonds and car windshields to tires and grocery bags, and is in the midst of a multi-part series on nanosilver (or silver nanoparticles). Upcoming shows will cover nanoplastics, private jets, renewable energy, smart homes, food and even cosmetic surgery. From real-life applications today, to the far-out possibilities of the future, the Bourne Report is a fascinating program the whole family will enjoy.

The show also highlights educational activities for both kids and adults--such the Future City Competition and Freescale's FTF Design Challenge--and will soon discuss summer camps and after-school programs that focus on science and engineering. Links for additional information about these programs are posted to the show's blog at: www.bournereport.com/kids.php

The Bourne Report is produced and hosted by Marlene Bourne, an industry analyst with nearly 15 years of experience covering the commercialization of MEMS and nanotechnology. The author of two books, A Consumer's Guide to MEMS & Nanotechnology, and MEMS & Nanotechnology for Kids, Marlene is uniquely capable of discussing complex information in a way that all audiences can understand and enjoy.

Tune into The Bourne Report Sundays at 3 PM on Independent 1310 KXAM in Phoenix and join Marlene as she talks with weekly guests and discusses the latest MEMS and nanotech-based products, news and trends. Call-in with questions or email your Listener's Challenge ideas.

Listeners around the world can stream The Bourne Report live on the Internet via www.bournereport.com. If you're unable to listen live, each episode is also archived for on-demand listening anytime, anywhere; just bookmark www.bournereport.com/radio.php or subscribe to the radio show's RSS feed via your favorite podcast or news aggregator.
