New Belgium Brewing's Springboard Returns for Sophomore Year: Spring Seasonal Hitting the Shelves Again, including New Markets

Springboard, New Belgium Brewing's spring seasonal, welcomes back the warmer months for its second year. Beer lovers embraced its unique ingredients and full-bodied appeal in its 2007 debut across the west, and will be entering Illinois and Minnesota this season. Also new this year, New Belgium purchased six new French oak foeders (vintner barrels) as the Springboard uses a splash of wood-conditioned ale.

Ft. Collins, CO (PRWEB) February 17, 2008 - Springboard, New Belgium Brewing's spring seasonal, welcomes back the warmer months for its second year.

Springboard offers ancient Chinese herbs, berry-like tones, and a dry, crisp finale. It's partially filtered, resulting in a cloudy blonde appearance and moderate body. -

Springboard introduces a combination of the following:

  • Oats for a thicker, full-bodied mouth feel
  • Ancient Chinese herbs including Schisandra (known for its complex tastes and medical uses), Goji berries and Wormwood (the spice, not distilled as in absinthe)
  • Mt. Hood hops
  • A dash of New Belgium's own wood-aged biere.

"Springboard came out strong last year and really helped further our seasonal release program," said Assistant Brewmaster Grady Hull. "It's a fun one to brew and does a nice job of celebrating the Belgian approach to finding inspiration in creative selection of ingredients."

Springboard is available on draft and in bottles in most New Belgium markets from the end of February into April.
