Full Sail Real World Education (www.fullsail.com) is proud to congratulate Recording Arts graduate, TJ Dumser and his band, The Scarlet, on being chosen as the next "Breakout Rock Act" by Hot Pursuit, Spin Magazine, and Music Nation through their online challenge with over 5,000 competitors.

Winter Park (PRWEB) February 17, 2008 -- Full Sail Real World Education (www.fullsail.com) is proud to congratulate Recording Arts graduate, TJ Dumser and his band, The Scarlet, on being chosen as the next "Breakout Rock Act" by Hot Pursuit, Spin Magazine, and Music Nation through their online challenge with over 5,000 competitors.

Dumser, who graduated with his degree from Full Sail in 2006, immediately entered the recording industry after graduation. After a three-month internship with Headroom Digital Audio, a full service sound design agency located in NYC, he was offered a full-time position as an Assistant Engineer. In addition to his work with the corporation, Dumser continued to pursue side projects which included completing all of the audio recordings for his band, The Scarlet.

"The tools that I learned through Full Sail's Recording Arts Program were what I needed to successfully engineer our band's sound. The music that the judges critiqued was our original work along with my personal credits as the recording engineer," said Dumser.

Spin Magazine and Music Nation kicked off the online challenge in search of the next "Breakout Rock Act" in late September 2007. Judged by Jane's Addiction vocalist, Perry Ferrell, Cursive and Good Life frontman, Tim Kasher, and Spin Magazine editor, Doug Brod, The Scarlet was named the winner in December. The Scarlet's band members include: Dumser, Marc Spatafore and Ian McGuinness. The band will receive a record deal with Original Signal Recordings/Epic Records as their first place prize. Next for the band will be their participation in South by Southwest this year in Austin, TX.
