Full Sail Graduates Continue A Tradition of Excellence at The 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards

On February 10, 2008, the GRAMMY Awards celebrated 50 years of honoring achievements in the various fields of the music industry, and Full Sail Real World Education (www.fullsail.com)celebrated the remarkable results having 29 of its graduates who were credited on GRAMMY-winning projects in 30 separate categories.

Winter Park, FL (PRWEB) February 21, 2008 -- On February 10, 2008, the GRAMMY Awards celebrated 50 years of honoring achievements in the various fields of the music industry, and Full Sail Real World Education (www.fullsail.com) celebrated the remarkable results having 29 of its graduates who were credited on GRAMMY-winning projects in 30 separate categories.

Adding to the impressive legacy of Full Sail graduates working on GRAMMY-nominated pieces, graduate Brian Montgomery worked directly on Herbie Hancock's River: The Joni Letters, which won in this year's Album of the Year category. Michael Makowski also joined the ranks for his work on Amy Winehouse's hit single, Rehab which took home the GRAMMY for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Makowski worked alongside fellow Full Sail graduates, Franklin Socorro and James M. Wisner on Winehouse's Back to Black album which earned the award for Best Pop Vocal Album as well.

For 15 out of the last 17 years, a Full Sail graduate has worked on every GRAMMY Award-winning Album of the Year including Norah Jones (Come Away With Me) and OutKast (Speakerboxxx/The Love Below). Overall this year, Full Sail had 107 graduates who were involved in the production of 84 individual projects nominated for a GRAMMY Award in 62 separate categories.

Full Sail graduates were represented across many GRAMMY-nominated categories including: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Rock Album, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Rap Album, Best Country Song and Best Musical Show Album. Contributing as Engineers, Assistant Engineers or Sound Mixers, Full Sail graduates were responsible for creating some of this year's finest musical selections from artists such as: Kanye West, Beyonce, Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, Bon Jovi, Maroon 5, Michael Buble, Bruce Springstein, LeAnn Rimes, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and Brad Paisley.
