Academy of Art University Showcases Student Work at 2008 Game Developers Conference

Academy of Art University has one of the hottest booths at CMP's 2008 Game Developers Conference.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 22, 2008 -- Academy of Art University has one of the hottest booths at CMP's 2008 Game Developers Conference in downtown San Francisco. The Game Developers Conference is one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the game industry; it is a massive recruiting, networking, and technology expo rolled into one. Everyone from small casual game publishers to giants like Sony are present. The Academy was at the heart of the event, where anxious gamers awaited announcements from Microsoft regarding Xbox 360's wildly popular Gears of War 2 and the exciting new role playing game, Fable 2.

The Academy of Art University booth is a cutting-edge multimedia station where attendees had the exclusive opportunity to check out dynamic student work from the animation school, film school, computer arts school, photography school, illustration school, architecture school, interior design school, fashion school, industrial design school, graphic design school, fine arts school, and advertising school. Students had the exhilarating chance to display their work to some of the biggest names in the tech industry.

Located in the heart of the biggest gaming community in the country, Academy of Art University has its finger on the pulse of the latest innovations in technology and is able to recruit instructors from the very top of the gaming world. Academy students receive training from some of the most well-known names in the industry today; the Academy also offers exclusive Pixar classes to its Animation students.

Surrounded by companies such as Electronic Arts, Sony, Logitech, and Microsoft Games, the Academy was among some of the most respected names in the industry. When Nintendo announced the new developments for their Nintendo Wii console, WiiWare and WiiFit, the Academy was on hand to inform interested attendees how to break into the gaming industry.

The Academy booth was right next to Eve Online, which is the largest gaming community on the Internet. The Academy is one of the only schools with an Animation program that keeps up with industry trends and technology, allowing students to stay on top of the online gaming industry.

Industry professionals from a variety of companies such as Pixar, Walt Disney Animation and Sony fly in every year to attend Academy of Art University's Annual Spring Show. The Spring Show, which takes place at the end of May, showcases the best work from all 13 of the Academy's programs.
