Unlucky For Some -- the Online Bingo News Website -- Joins 'Save Our Bingo' Campaign

Rob Hutchison, Director of Dark Hat Media, has announced that the popular online bingo news website www.unluckyforsome.co.uk has joined the 'Save our Bingo' campaign, which is petitioning the UK government to stop its unfair policy of double taxation before the industry is damaged forever.

(PRWEB) March 3, 2008 -- Rob Hutchison, Director of Dark Hat Media, has announced that the popular online bingo news website www.unluckyforsome.co.uk has joined the 'Save our Bingo' campaign, which is petitioning the UK government to stop its unfair policy of double taxation before the industry is damaged forever.

Unluckyforsome.co.uk has grown rapidly in the past year and provides up-to-the-minute information including online bingo site launches, special free bingo offers, gaming advice, blogs and bingo forums. The website has set up a link to the petition where bingo players and those who work in the industry can support this vital campaign.

We cannot allow the unfair policy of double taxation to destroy the bingo industry. We at www.unluckyforsome.co.uk support this campaign wholeheartedly and I would encourage everyone who cares about bingo to sign the petition.
Unlike any other gaming industry, UK bingo clubs are taxed twice on their revenue. They are forced to pay both VAT and Gross Profits tax, which is hitting them hard. Despite overcoming many hurdles including the recent smoking ban, which forced many members to leave, double taxation has proven too much for many clubs which have been forced to close.

The closure of bingo clubs throughout the country will be a major blow for local communities. It is widely recognised that bingo clubs play an important social role for millions of people, as well as employing 17,000 staff. The 'Save our Bingo' campaign, started by a champion caller from Mecca Bingo, has set up a petition on the 10 Downing Street website. Giants of the British bingo industry including Mecca Bingo have also sent a joint letter to the Chancellor asking him to end double taxation in the next Budget.

Rob says, "We cannot allow the unfair policy of double taxation to destroy the bingo industry. We at www.unluckyforsome.co.uk support this campaign wholeheartedly and I would encourage everyone who cares about bingo to sign the petition."

About Unluckyforsome.co.uk:
The name "Unlucky for Some" may sound strange to non-bingo players, but it's the bingo caller's term for number 13, as is "Two Fat Ladies" 88.

The website was launched in November 2006 as an online bingo news website, then progressed to offer online bingo site reviews, new promotions and bingo bonuses.
