Youngstown, Ohio Singer Gets More Press as He Plans for Busy 2008

LeShawn Tucker Jr. recently sat down with the Vindicator, a daily newspaper for Ohio's Mahoning Valley, to discuss the path his singing career will take this year.

Youngstown, Ohio (PRWEB) March 8, 2008 -- Le Shawn Tucker Jr. has a big year ahead of him after being part of the winning group from NBC's "Clash of the Choirs." He recently sat down with the Vindicator, a newspaper that serves the Youngstown, Ohio area where he hails from, to discuss his future plans. Among them are a nationwide tour and a new album.

Tucker, 23, was one of 600 people who tried out for the NBC competition show; only five choirs of approximately 20 members each made the final cut. Singers Patti LaBelle, Michael Bolton, Blake Shelton, Kelly Rowland and Nick Lachey each headed up one of the choirs on the show. Tucker was chosen to be in Team Lachey, which ended up being the winning choir at the end of the show.

Tucker's star has continued to rise since "Clash of the Choirs," as he explained to the Vindicator recently. He is preparing for the release of his album, "Stuck in Love," which he wrote, performed and produced. He is also going on a Live Nation tour that will make stops in cities including Youngstown, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago and New York City.

Tucker currently attends Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, where performs with the Wright State University Gospel Choir. He is majoring in mass communications and theater studies. His other accomplishments include performing for the Youngstown Connection in high school, dancing with the Archangel Dance Theater and appearing in plays at the Youngstown Playhouse.

As a producer, Le Shawn (S.DOT Tuck) is a wizard of strings and horns. His productions sound like someone took a symphony orchestra and gave it some street flavor. Besides singing, Le Shawn is a well rounded dancer. Although he prefers hip-hop, he also studied jazz and tap. Tucker is a radio DJ on 106.9 WWSU in Dayton OH, and is no rookie to the theater. Tucker has performed on the Tom Joyner morning show, BET Comic view, Carnival cruise lines, a Raven Simone video (Back Flip) and a European Tour. Tucker has shared the stage with Billy Blanks Jr, Debra Wilson, Tom Hanks, and Anthony J Brown to name a few. Tucker has won numerous awards for his performances and has made many TV appearances. Tucker is currently touring as a soloist (singer and dancer) with the winning choir "Team Lachey" from the hit NBC miniseries "Clash of the Choirs". Le Shawn is a trained pianist along with many other instruments. His influences are Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, James Brown, Usher, Joe, Boyz II Men, and Michael Jackson.

Tucker's CD "Stuck In Love" can be found in stores near you. It can also be found on www.cdbaby.com, www.digistation.com, and www.tradebit.com. Eleven more digital stores will have "Stuck In Love" soon! Keep a look out for S. DOT Tuck "Stuck In Love".
