High Country Outfitters Supports the Southeastern Rock Climbing Community
High Country Outfitters, in cooperation with the Atlanta Climbing Club and Sweetwater Brewery, is presenting three outstanding climbers in a series of fund raising slide shows. The money raised will go to the Southeastern Climbers Coalition, a rock climbing preservation group.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 11, 2008 -- High Country Outfitters (www.HighCountryOutfitters.com) will host three separate slide shows during April and May to help raise money to help secure local rock climbing areas for future generations. With help from the Atlanta Climbers Club and Sweetwater Brewery, Atlanta will be visited by climbing guide Wally Berg of Berg Adventures International, rock climbing pioneer Henry Barber, and Exum Guide Brenton Reagan. The money will be raised through the sale of special edition pint glasses, which are also the ticket into the event.
The slide show series will begin on April 3 with Wally Berg. Berg, an international climbing guide, specializes in guiding clients up the highest peak on each of the seven continents, known as the Seven Summits. Having founded the adventure travel company Berg Adventures International, Wally Berg has guided over 47 successful ascents to the world's highest peaks since 1997. Berg will be focusing on Mt Elbrus and Kilimanjaro, the high peaks of Europe and Africa.
Henry Barber will continue the series on May 1. Barber will present his current slide show tour titled Journey to the Soul. With climbs around the world, Barber explores his journey of self-discovery in the rock climbing world.
May 14 will end the series with Brenton Reagan. Reagan, a long time climber and Exum Mountain Guide, is currently attempting Fitz Roy in Patagonia with John Bragg. Reagan will be presenting on this climb. Reagan already has many climbing accomplishments from around the world including the US and Mexico and expeditions in Nepal, Kazakhstan, and Patagonia.
Events will be individually sponsored by Arc'teryx, Mountain Hardwear, Marmot and Chaco
The special edition pint glasses will go on sale March 13 and will be available at High Country Outfitters. The money raised through sales of the glasses will go to the Southeastern Climbers Coalition, and the glass itself is the ticket to the event.
