Hanley Wood Announces the Relaunch of Builderonline.com

Hanley Wood, LLC, relaunches its flagship Web site www.BuilderOnline.com with new content management system.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 9, 2008 -- Hanley Wood, LLC, the leading media and information company serving the housing and construction industries, announces the relaunch of its flagship Web site www.BuilderOnline.com.

The largest site on the Web for home builders and building product manufacturers, BUILDER is visited each month by over 100,000 unique visitors seeking industry news and building product information. The site receives over 300,000 page views a month. BUILDER is respected and known by builders as the authoritative online source of vital business-building information.

The new Content Management System will change the game for our portfolio of sites and be the catalyst for an aggressive audience growth.
BUILDER was one of the first construction industry Web sites to launch in 1996 and is the companion media to the award-winning BUILDER magazine. Hanley Wood's integrated media strategy aligns the print and e-media closely under one editorial direction.

"Builders rely on our BUILDER Web site for news and product information and Hanley Wood is committed to keeping our media properties at the forefront of the industry, " says Peter Goldstone, President of Hanley Wood Business Media.

This relaunch showcases Hanley Wood's new content management system (CMS). The new CMS uses the Tridion platform, and gives Web editors almost limitless flexibility to add and update online content, and to make them quickly. It also allows for new ad units and contextual advertising.

"This new infrastructure allows us to be more efficient in bringing our ideas to market in the coming years," says Andreas Schmidt, Hanley Wood's e-Media Executive Director. "The new Content Management System will change the game for our portfolio of sites and be the catalyst for an aggressive audience growth."

The CMS provides a streamlined maintenance process for Hanley Wood Web editors. It also improves the user experience with its more-robust topical indexing system that delivers relevant content with every search. This brings the breadth and depth of Hanley Wood's online content more readily to the surface. Readers will easily find topical information drawn from the magazine content, and stories written for the Web by magazine writers and from other sources like the company's Yellowbrix newsfeed, increasing site value and ultimately growing site traffic--a key metric to support revenue-producing online advertising sales.

In addition to enhanced search features and improved site functionality, the new BUILDER Web site also offers a new interactive version of the Builder 100, and community building tools such as videos and blogs. Hanley Wood's BuildTV online video platform provides news and information on current trends and best business practices in the residential and commercial construction industries, while Boyce's blog provides insights from BUILDER Magazine's award-winning editorial director Boyce Thompson.

Several other Hanley Wood sites will be converted over the coming months.
