Overbuilt markets are making us be careful when selecting locations

Ogden, UT (PRWEB) March 10, 2008 -- Lock It Up Self Storage announced new construction of 1,000 new units and the completion of two acquisitions during 2007. When the projects are finished, the Ogden, Utah based company will exceed 500,000 square feet and more than 3,500 units of self storage at eight locations.

The largest of the new facilities will be located in Farmington, Utah. The 90,000 square foot facility will include 700 units in the city's new commercial district just east of the Station Park Retail and Office development and commuter rail stop. That project is due to be complete in September, 2008. This will follow the completion of 250 new units in Ogden, including climate control and RV units.

Lock It Up completed the first phase of its Clinton facility, encompassing 42,000 square feet, in June of 2007. Additionally, the company recently acquired Northside Self Storage, of North Ogden, and Storage Solutions, of Clearfield. Both locations received significant improvements and reopened under the Lock It Up Self Storage brand.

"Lock It Up is in the midst of a strategic growth period that will further establish it as the predominant provider of self storage in Northern Utah," said Dan Nixon, President of Lock It Up Self Storage Centers. "Overbuilt markets are making us be careful when selecting locations" Nixon added.

Lock It Up has found success through superior customer service and state-of-the-art facilities. This focus has allowed Lock It Up to compete successfully in the Northern Wasatch Front markets.

Founded in 1994, Lock It Up Self Storage currently has locations in Bountiful, Clinton, Layton, Clearfield, North Ogden and Ogden.
