New Website Helps College Students Get Better Grades

A free new website enables college students to upload their own, personal work from class in order to improve grades and help other students. http://www.GradeGenie.com takes study groups to a whole new level.

Columbia, MO (PRWEB) March 15, 2008 -- GradeGenie.com (www.GradeGenie.com) is a free student-to-student collaborative network allowing students to share non-copyrighted, academically allowed course materials with other students.

"GradeGenie is for the students, by the students," said GradeGenie's creator Cary Silverman, a student at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Besides upper level management, students have done everything from deciding the flow of the website to marketing it to other campuses.

As GradeGenie spreads, it will create a greater academic community and become even more valuable to our education than it is right now, especially if used properly
"As an average student I work hard to maintain good grades, and due to personal health issues, I have missed a lot of class. GradeGenie was (and still is) my personal solution to getting all of the information that I miss or don't fully understand," said Silverman.

The site is designed to offer items such as class notes, study guides, and other materials produced by students allowing others to gain a more in-depth understanding of their coursework.

"GradeGenie isn't designed to be a substitute for students who miss class, but rather a supplement," said Silverman.

GradeGenie allows a real-time, mass collaboration of ideas, notes, etc. beyond the geographic limitations of a single university. It has the ability to enhance a student's understanding of their course materials, and help them save time. Better grades can be achieved through better learning and understanding.

There are two ways to use GradeGenie. It depends on students helping students by uploading class notes in an easy to use upload feature that will then post the notes in a way that other students will be able to easily find them. The second way for students to use GradeGenie is to search, download and view the notes, allowing them to study more effectively for their classes.

"As GradeGenie spreads, it will create a greater academic community and become even more valuable to our education than it is right now, especially if used properly," said Silverman.

Silverman further stated that "GradeGenie has been listening to the academic community and administrators. Through their advice and guidance, GradeGenie has created a website accepted by both students and administrators."
