In conjunction with the launch, Healthy Innovations is unveiling a year-long campaign to donate five cents from every can of Vida Tea sold to the Children with Diabetes Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting people with Type 1 diabetes and funding research for a cure.
High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) causes damaging high blood sugar levels in diabetics. With this in mind, Healthy Innovations chose to lightly sweeten Vida Tea with organic Blue Agave Nectar. Named by Dr. Mehmet Oz on "The Oprah Show" as the best sugar substitute, organic Agave is unrefined, vegan, chemical and gluten-free.
