Michael Kelly Guitars Featuring the Babicz Guitars Variable Set Neck Wins Prestigious 'Best In Show' at NAMM Show

Michael Kelly Guitars featuring the Babicz Guitars Variable Set Neck wins prestigious "Best In Show" at NAMM Show. The patented Variable Set Neck technology is just one of many Babicz Guitars innovations. The Babicz "icZ" Acoustic System is taking the lead in guitar technology.

Fort Wayne, IN (PRWEB) March 17, 2008 -- The 2008 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, brought out the best in the music business for Babicz Guitars USA last month. Featuring the "Variable Set Neck" by Music InnoVision and licensed under a Babicz Design Ltd. patent, the Michael Kelly "Visionary Series Guitars" were awarded the coveted "Best in Show" at the world's largest music trade event. Michael Kelley was selected for the award by NAMM University as being representative of the most innovative and forward-thinking technologies introduced to the industry.

NAMM University is a division of the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and focuses on promoting best practices of NAMM members within the business. At his show booth, Jeff Carano, COO of Babicz Guitars, stated, "We are flattered with the recognition and very happy that our friends at Michael Kelley have selected a Babicz innovation as a major feature for a line of their excellent stringed instruments." This year's NAMM event was a resounding success as exhibitor and registrant attendance broke all records.

The patented Variable Set Neck technology is just one of many Babicz Guitars innovations. The Variable Set Neck is an innovative mechanism that allows guitar players to easily adjust string height without altering the neck angle, scale length, or intonation. An ordinary hex key is inserted into a small plate on the back of the guitar, and a quick turn allows the player to set the action to their exact preference in seconds without de-tuning. Tonal benefits of the Babicz system are evident as the neck is unattached to the soundboard of the guitar, allowing it to vibrate more freely and adding long term stability to the upper bout.

Both Michael Kelly and the C.F. Martin Company have licensed the device for selected lines of their guitars. Jeff Babicz, CEO and chief product designer, said, "The Variable Set Neck" is just one of the innovations that make our guitars play so easily and sound so great. It is part of a completely new and patented system we have developed for our Tribeca line, Identity series, and award-winning Babicz Octane electric guitars.

The Babicz "icZ" Acoustic System is taking the lead in guitar technology. The Babicz "icZ" Acoustic System consists of three patented technologies incorporated into the design of each guitar. The Variable Set Neck, the Lateral Compression Soundboard, and the adjustable Torque Reducing Bridge all combine to provide enhanced resonance, sustain, improved ease of play and proper intonation throughout the life of the instrument.

Numerous design awards, industry publication reviews, and famous artists attest to the superior tonal quality in the higher-end instruments crafted by Babicz Guitars. Some of those who play Babicz Guitars are Foreigner, Todd Rundgren, The Pretenders, Greg Allman, Black Eyed Peas, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Robert Randolph, Kansas, Pat Travers, The Outlaws, Umphrey's McGee, Porcupine Tree, Mike Keneally and Adrian Belew, among many others.
