Social Networking Site for Crafting Announces New Organization to Provide Craft Projects for Charitable Organizations

CraftBuddy.com, a social networking site for crafters, teamed up with over a dozen members of their crafting community to organize and find a way to get hand-made crafts of all types to a charitable organization.

Paso Robles, CA (PRWEB) March 19, 2008 -- CraftBuddy.com, a social networking site for crafters, teamed up with over a dozen members of their crafting community to organize and find a way to get hand-made crafts of all types to a charitable organization.

"With an army of crafters who complete many items such as preemie outfits, crocheted hats, and quilts for needy families, we just had to organize and find a way to get these items to a needy organization who could distribute them" says CraftBuddy.com founder and President Fred Brutschy. "We got to talking one night about ways to help the community, and it seemed that everyone had a personal story to tell about having been helped out in the past, and the desire to return the favor. Everybody got really excited about getting organized, and within a few hours the framework had been laid out".

It is important that we hook up with someone who really wants these items and will put them to use right away. In addition, we want to find someone who will work closely with us to tell us what their needs are so that we can provide them in the most efficient means possible. Therefore, an open line of communication is the key to success
"I have fleece and blankets that are ready to go, and no place to send them" states CraftBuddy regular Vivian. Vivian, who goes by the name Hummingbird on the website, is one of the members instrumental in the forming of this foundation.

"I can't wait to help out and will do whatever I can to help out, no matter what the cause is!" proclaimed Sue, who is known as "Knight" on the website. Sue is not only a member of the new foundation, but is also the current CraftBuddy "Crafter of the Month" an award given out each month to the website member who demonstrates a skill at crafting and a desire to help others.

Long time CraftBuddy member Eva is interested as well, saying "I have some preemie hats made and I can always crochet something else too. I have a lot of yarn that is just sitting here waiting to be made up".

"With over a dozen crafters signed up and ready to help out, and craft projects that are already created and ready to be shipped out, all we need to do is find the right organization." states Fred Brutschy. "It is important that we hook up with someone who really wants these items and will put them to use right away. In addition, we want to find someone who will work closely with us to tell us what their needs are so that we can provide them in the most efficient means possible. Therefore, an open line of communication is the key to success".

If you are an organization seeking hand-made items of all types for the needy, or know of one, please contact us for immediate consideration. In addition to seeking a worthy organization to donate items to, CraftBuddy.com is also looking for crafters to join up and help the foundation.

"If someone can knit, crochet or sew, then that is of course welcome. However, we have several roles to fill and any crafter than can make any item is needed. For example, one member has agreed to provide memory boxes for those who might want to remember a loved one who was lost. Other members have stepped up to help organize and spread the word" explains Fred. "We are all very excited about this and are eager to move quickly. All we need is the right organization, and hopefully some more eager and compassionate crafters to join our ranks!"

CraftBuddy.com is a social networking website for crafting launched in 2007, and was created for crafters to exchange tips, ideas, and craft projects.
