The Anti-Defamation League Reviews and Greenlights Holocaust Film 'OF JEWISH DESCENT'

Writer/Director G. Tyler of WhoKnew Entertainment Group, Inc., is breathing a sigh of relief as his 2009 slated Academy Award Short Film screenplay, OF JEWISH DESCENT, clears a hurdle that many other recent projects and individuals have stumbled over.

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) March 24, 2008 -- Writer/Director G. Tyler of WhoKnew Entertainment Group, Inc., is breathing a sigh of relief as his 2009 slated Academy Award Short Film screenplay, OF JEWISH DESCENT, clears a hurdle that many other recent projects and individuals have stumbled over.

OF JEWISH DESCENT is the fictional story of a Holocaust survivor finding peace after decades of guilt stemming from forced participation with the Nazi regime during WWII. Highlighted in the film is Jean Voste, the sole Afro-Belgian resistance fighter held captive in the Dauchau Concentration Camp and alive at the time of its Liberation.

G. Tyler's concern that his film would not be perceived as offense, lead him to solicit the evaluation of The Anti Defamation League and its Holocaust Education Center.

With the final word coming from Alison Mayersohn, Senior Associate Director - Pacific Southwest Region, the film received a thorough critique and was given a word of encouragement. "Good luck with the film," she stated. "Thank you for providing ADL the opportunity to look this over."

"I don't think that the ADL is even remotely interested in dictating the contents of a film," says G. Tyler. "In fact, I believe their sole concern was making sure that the project, although fiction, represented an accurate, non-offense portrayal of this period in history."

OF JEWISH DESCENT now enthusiastically approaches its second hurdle -- financing -- in an effort to meet its Academy goals. This will be G. Tyler's third consecutive attempt for the Oscar in the short film category, with previous efforts that included Hollywood legend, Mickey Rooney. He hopes to be the first African-American Writer/Director to win the honor.
