SinglesPlease.com Makes Free Online Dating More "Normal"

When most people hear the term "online dating site" they usually think of people who use the internet as a last resort to meet someone special. SinglesPlease.com wants to change that perception by changing the way that online dating works.

New York, NY (PRWEB) March 25, 2008 -- SinglesPlease.com, a free online dating site, has announced that its aim is to redefine people's perception of "online dating" into something more normal and socially acceptable.

First, with an easygoing and laid back approach, SinglesPlease.com hopes to take the awkward seriousness out of online dating. When users upload a new photo for example, the loading screen says "Pimping Your Photo… this wouldn't take so long if your head wasn't so big…" which is a far stretch from traditional loading messages. The free dating service believes that setting up a profile shouldn't be like taking an exam. It should be quick, painless, and informal.

SinglesPlease.com also wants to redefine online dating by rethinking how a dating site should really work. How do people meet potential dates in real life? Well, most people will meet each other at school, at work, at a club, in a coffee shop, or any place where a group of new people can get together. Meeting people in real life starts with a first impression which leads to a conversation if both people are mutually interested. The question is, then, why do most dating sites totally miss this process? Why are there dozens of sites out there that try to match people based on flawed personality tests and match making programs? Can computer programs really match people? What's the point of reading through hundreds of online profiles when only a handful of those singles will be mutually interested? These are the types of questions that the founder of SinglesPlease.com has kept in mind while designing a revolutionary new kind of dating site.

To simulate the way that singles meet in real life, users can scan through galleries of singles in their area (70 thumbnails per page) and simply click on the singles that they are interested in, creating a checkmark over each thumbnail. Users can look over hundreds of singles in just minutes instead of hours. When users login to their accounts, they will see a gallery of all the singles who are interested in them also. From there, users can message each other and exchange contact information freely.

Because this system takes the seriousness out of online dating, while simulating the way that singles meet in real life, the free service hopes to make online dating more socially acceptable, like meeting someone in class or at work. SinglesPlease.com might be the next generation dating site that truly redefines "online dating".
