Seattle, WA to Host SSI's Popular Jihad 2.0 Counter-Terrorism Workshop

Security Solutions International (SSI) continues to develop its partnership with the Port of Seattle PD, which will host the high-demand Jihad 2.0 intelligence workshop for First Responders on October 23rd &24th at the SeaTac International Airport Conference Center.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) March 26, 2008 -- Security Solutions International (SSI) continues to develop its partnership with the Port of Seattle PD, which will host the high-demand Jihad 2.0 intelligence workshop for First Responders on October 23rd &24th at the SeaTac International Airport Conference Center.

Jihad 2.0 - Virtual to Physical, is a unique intelligence program which provides Homeland Security professionals with the opportunity to learn about the developing Jihadist threat, both domestically and abroad, from international expert Gadi Aviran, CEO of Hazards Threat Analysis, Ltd. The workshop will be partially funded by the UASI, a multi-million dollar federal grant program focused on Homeland Security development.

As SSI President Henry Morgenstern explains, "Jihad 2.0 focuses on treating the threat as a process with a foreseeable lifecycle, rather than as an incident, without undue focus on any one aspect or modus operandi in order to empower First Responders and related security personnel with the best possible means of preventing terror events in any arena."

A key objective of this high demand workshop, being performed weekly for law enforcement groups nation-wide, is to break down the terror threat-cycle into a set of techno-intelligence signatures - signs, indications and traces foretelling a future terror incident that is about to take place. This analytical perspective can give law enforcement agencies a distinct advantage in response and prevention planning. As the threat of home-grown, self-radicalized Jihadist terror cells grows, the place to look for these signatures is the local community, by the people who live within it or correspond with it on a daily basis.

Keynote speaker Gadi Aviran explains, "Jihad 2.0 is about knowing the enemy, the first step towards 'connecting the dots' and ultimately - saving lives. The workshop highlights the need of alertness to all stages of the Jihadi threat and utilizes a wide variety of information sources fused into a complete threat analysis. It is, therefore, highly relevant to all members of the counter-terrorism community who wish to acquire, and effectively apply, the innovative counter-measures that are required in order to win the ongoing war on terror."

Workshop topics include:

  • Introduction - Why is the Internet so commonly used?
  • The Cyber Sanctuary - Introduction to Jihad on the Web
  • o   What makes an intelligence threat?
o   Terror for Dummies - terror techniques made easy
o   Jihadi intelligence gathering over the Web
o   Jihadi post incident analysis and lessons learnt
  • Drawing the Dots: Intelligence collection complexities
  • o   Technical and operational capabilities vs. intentions
    o   Techno intelligence signatures
