SSI Brings America's First Responders the Israeli Perspective on Counter-Terrorism

On the heels of the Annapolis Conference and recent visits to the region by top US diplomats, Security Solutions International (SSI) will be hosting another of its popular, one-of-a-kind anti-terrorism training missions to Israel from Sept. 19th-27th. The mission also provides post-secondary students the unique opportunity to gain valuable college credit.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) March 26, 2008 -- SSI has been taking teams of First Responders, security professionals, and law enforcement personnel to Israel for over a decade and remains the only private US Company offering this form of high-demand, frontline security training. The unique program is performed in cooperation with more than 50 agencies and has been funded in part by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Participants in the upcoming mission, the 13th SSI has hosted, will receive in-depth training by various security professionals who combat terror threats in a diverse range of environments on a daily basis as well as having the chance to explore the unique cultural and historical landscape of Israel. Some of the mission highlights and topics covered will include:

  • Public Safety -- large scale events, shopping and retail, public transportation
  • Ports and Airports -- tour and learn about some of the world's most complex security arrangements including a visit to Israel's Olympic Village
  • Critical Infrastructure -- tour the Ashdod Power Plant and learn about defenses against Kasam Missiles that are being constantly being fired from Gaza
  • University and Schools
  • Government buildings -- visit Israel's legislature "The Knesset"
  • VIP Protection -- review lessons learned from the 1995 Rabin Assassination
  • Suicide Terror -- visit sites of past terrorist incidents and speak with public security officials
  • Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs)
  • Personal Protection -- active Krav Maga training (an Israeli Martial Art and Close Combat Discipline)

Additionally, participants will experience some of the best dining and accommodations Israel has to offer. Optional tours are available for visiting Israel's historical holy sites including a guided tour through Jerusalem's Old City, lunch at the Sea of Galilee and dinner near the beautiful Mt. Tabor.

SSI CEO Solomon Bradman comments, "We are leading the way, making a difference together with a very dedicated group of First Responders… who consider themselves a cadre of people ready to fight the war on terror… all very inspired after seeing what Israel has achieved." He continues, "Because we give them a hands-on experience, and no-one else has the connections to do this… all our visits are really with the heads of security of wherever we are visiting…"

Adding to the diverse pool of mission participants, SSI is continuing to build its relationship with St. Leo University which not only allows the unique opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate students to gain college credit for participating, but has now developed an entire syllabus dedicated to the SSI Israel Mission, thereby creating an exciting new reason for students to join up.

A past mission delegate recalls, "The training we received was very well balanced as to the many facets of security concerns that the police and private security have to deal with on a daily basis. It was invaluable to learn how the military, law enforcement and private security agencies cooperate and work toward a common goal." Lieutenant Colonel Richard Wheeler, Commander Strategic Planning, Maryland DoT
