Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 26, 2008 -- The paintings of Lore Eckelberry are among the works of selected artists to show throughout the year at the prestigious Salon 2008 at the Valley Institute of Visual Arts.
Lore's dynamic and colorful portrait paintings have been selected to show throughout this year in ten exhibitions at the Valley Institute of Visual Arts. Lore's latest work can be seen on her website www.loreeckelberry.com
Every year, out of hundreds of artists submitting works only thirty artists are selected by jury to show in the VIVA Gallery Salon. The salon features the work of these artists in regular intervals throughout the year in juried exhibitions. At each exhibition the paintings get selected by jurors to maintain the high quality standard of the work.
In Salon number one, "Ale 1" and "Self-portrait" were exhibited to glowing reviews. "Ale 1" features a striking partial image of a woman in profile . The composition draws in the viewer by encouraging one to complete it in the mind. "Self portrait" shows a figure in bright contrasting colors that convey the subject in abstracted imagery.
In Salon number two featured, "Baby blue" and "Ale 2". "Baby blue" is a crying baby reluctant to have his image portrayed and yet the inescapable sadness is visible in the eyes and the emotion of the blue color involves us further. "Ale 2" is a striking combination of Andy Warhol and a vivid happy colorful portrait of a girl smiling, wearing a baseball cap.
In Salon number three, "Orange Baby" and "Ale Phantom" which portrays a girl hiding in mystery, shy, uncertain of how to communicate something, but in spite of that she is able to transmit her thoughts through the gleam of her gorgeous eyes. "Orange Baby" is the contradiction of thoughts expressed in an amazing color contrast of orange and green.
Salon number four has a portrait of the famous actress "Karen Black" and describes Hollywood in her preparation for a show and coming out as a star. In the painting "Arthur" you see an amazingly handsome boy lost in his thoughts while he is bathed in the sun on a beach in Hawaii.
Several more shows are due throughout 2008 and it will be an exciting surprise to view what will be exhibited.
