That Sword of Damocles Is Suspended Over America

This new book confronts the rather significant question of why the United States of America has accepted the inevitability of another Islamic terrorist attack. More importantly, it addresses America's options to avoid that fate. The author's plan is politically incorrect and has the added attraction that it will work.

New York, NY (PRWEB) March 31, 2008 -- iUniverse, Inc. announced the release of "An Immodest Proposal for Ending and Winning the War on Terror: A Curmudgeon's Plan for Survival", by Gene Lalor, Ph.D. In this critical election year, this book is an essential read.

After examining why America is in dire straits, the author outlines a 10-point plan for avoiding all-out war with Islam, this war on terrorism which may represent the early stages of World War III. That possibility renders Iraq and Afghanistan all but inconsequential. In the dubious eventuality that the first phase does not succeed, Lalor offers Phase Two, a 10-point plan for decisive victory over terrorism.

An Immodest Proposal for Ending and Winning the War on Terror: A Curmudgeon's Plan for Survival proved to be an exceptional read with a nice blend of smart humor and smart commentary ... this book is well worth the time to read, enjoy, and absorb.
"An Immodest Proposal for Ending and Winning the War on Terror" rejects the corruption of political correctness which has put America in an untenable defensive posture. It defies the prevailing wisdom that terrorism can be ended via conventional warfare, by trying to understand this enemy's motivations, or by attempting to negotiate with people who want us dead. According to the author, the only route to eradicating terrorism is the intimidation option, speaking forcefully and wielding a prodigious stick. Passivity only encourages maniacal Islamists to out-do themselves next time.

Selected reviews:
"An Immodest Proposal for Ending and Winning the War on Terror: A Curmudgeon's Plan for Survival proved to be an exceptional read with a nice blend of smart humor and smart commentary ... this book is well worth the time to read, enjoy, and absorb." -- Tom Lindaman, Editor and Publisher, CommonConservative.com (March 1, 2008)

"Pure evil cannot be reasoned with and reformed. It must be destroyed. And Gene's well-thought out and well-articulated plan is one that would likely do just that -- destroy the enemy." -- Gregg Jackson, author of Conservative Comebacks to Liberal Lies: Issue by Issue Responses to the Most Common Claims of the Left from A to Z.

This is not a novel but it does feature a denouement, an ugly ending -- if we permit that ending. The premise is predicated on past and current events and conclusions drawn from them. They include our allowing the atrocity of 9/11 and our insane strategy of sitting back and waiting patiently for more terrorist attacks. Others have warned of the dangers posed by foreign and domestic terrorists, but no one -- until now -- has offered a workable strategy of deterrence.

FBI Director Mueller has said the next attack(s) could be nuclear; he loses sleep over the thought. DHS Chief Chertoff had a "gut feeling" we would be attacked last summer. "Yet, what are we doing to prevent another assault on our homeland? Our borders are farcical, our security measures a charade, our valiant military degraded by war and exhaustion. Meanwhile, a sick Carteresque malaise continues to erode America's moral foundations, character, and vision," says the author.

Quotations:

  • Newsweek editor, Fareed Zakaria, "supports a policy of 'resilience' which presupposes nuclear attacks on our soil after which we can 'bounce back from a disruption.' ... Would becoming buddies with the likes of Iran or Syria come before or after we're 'disrupted' by a few nuclear attacks, Fareed?"
  • "It wasn't comforting to know that four days after 9/11, Mr. Tenet went to Camp David and presented Mr. Bush with a plan to combat terrorism, a few days late and a few dollars short. The terror horse was long out of the barn and galloping to other targets and Mr. Tenet, Presidential Medal of Freedom in hand, was galloping off to write his book."
  • "It would take a generation or two but a sense of security not experienced since the summer of 2001 will penetrate the American consciousness and spirit. We would come to recognize the bitter truth that, as inhumane as it was, Phase Two was unavoidable."
