New Book Brings Clarity to Oft Misunderstood Land of Calvin

Author pens reflections on the pursuit of the French soul for Christ

Longwood (PRWEB) April 27, 2008 -- God Still Loves the French ($13.99, paperback, 978-1-60034-284-1), a new release from Xulon author Marc Mailloux, is one man's story of his life and vocation for sharing the gospel with the often misunderstood people of the land of Calvin. It is a collection of autobiographical anecdotes accumulated during twenty-plus years in France, first as a student, then as a missionary. Wrestling with matters like the inscrutable nature of calling and the arcane complexities of fund-raising, this personal testimony spans the years of 1973 to 1997. From Paris to Provence, from the classrooms of the Sorbonne to the cafes of Paris, from the roads of rural France to life at a French seminary, the narrative contains reflections on customs and politics and spirituality garnered by Mailloux in pursuit of the French soul for Christ.

Says the veteran author, "I hope (readers) will gain a better understanding of America's traditionally most recalcitrant allies, be edified by a consideration of this fascinating people and country from whence came the most mature expression of the Christian faith, and have a few laughs along the way."

A born storyteller, Mailloux lived in France for more than 20 years, during which he attended the Sorbonne and the Reformed Seminary at Aix-en-Provence. He believes his book contains extremely valuable insights into the people and culture of France and that it is relevant for anyone who is going to France to live and work with the people--especially current and prospective missionaries.

Marc Mailloux and his wife, Aline, have three children: Calix, Justin, and Anaïs.

Xulon Press, a part of Salem Communications Corporation, is the world's largest Christian publisher, with more than 5,000 titles published to date. Retailers may order God Still Loves the French through Ingram Book Company and/or Spring Arbor Book Distributors.
