Director of Security for Central Defense Joins forces with MPD

Memphis, TN (PRWEB) May 8, 2008 -- Central Defense Security's Leo Hampton, Director of Security, along with Highwoods Properties, recently held an open discussion with the Memphis Police Department and East Memphis property managers at Kirby Woods Baptist Church.

The purpose of the meeting was to inform and to educate those in attendance on crime around the Poplar Corridor area and to learn what steps were already in progress for preventative measures for everyone's safety due to an increase in vehicle break ins. around the Poplar Corridor area, between 240 and Kirby Parkway.

Leo Hampton, Director of Security for Central Defense Security (http://www.centdef.com) has an extensive background in both law enforcement and security with his 25 year career with the Memphis Police Department. He was also a founding member of the Auto Cargo Task Force and was selected the 2003 National cargo Security council Officer of the Year. Through Mr. Hampton's relationships with MPD he was able to organize this meeting for property managers in the East Memphis area.
A presentation on CyberWatch was presented by the MPD. This program is part of their continuing effort to make our neighborhoods safer.

CyberWatch provides useful information about public safety and additional ways for the public to communicate with police. Currently, CyberWatch is available to community organizations, which in turn distribute the information to their members.
