3 More Colleges Join Tuition Rewards, the Largest U.S. Private College Savings Program

Emory & Henry College, Wells College and Culver-Stockton College have joined the SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards program, which helps families pay less for college. A total of 210 private, four-year colleges and universities now participate in the largest U.S. private college savings program. 113,000+ students are enrolled.

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) May 10, 2008 - Dr. James Johnston, Chairman & CEO of SAGE Scholars, a nationwide consortium of 210 private colleges and universities in 33 states, today announced that Emory & Henry College (Emory, VA), Wells College (Aurora, NY) and Culver-Stockton College (Canton, MO) have become members of the Tuition Rewards program, which helps families pay for college.

113,506 students are now enrolled in Tuition Rewards, which fosters a dynamic relationship among families, colleges and financial institutions. When registered students attend one of the 210 participating private colleges, the family's accumulated Tuition Reward points may be redeemed as a scholarship - a non-need based discount -- of up to one full year's tuition. Tuition Rewards is the largest U.S. private college savings program (based on participating students and assets).

Emory & Henry College is a liberal arts college in the Appalachian highlands of southwest Virginia offering more than 50 majors and an emphasis on undergraduate research. Recently, six E&H professors have been named Carnegie Foundation "State Professor of the Year"; one was named "U.S. Professor of the Year." The college, founded in 1836, derives its name from John Emory, an eminent Methodist bishop of his era, and Patrick Henry, renowned Virginian and patriot of the American Revolution. Wells became coeducational in 2005. The first "first lady" to attend college, Frances Folsom Cleveland, is a Wells alumna. Men's & women's basketball teams will debut in 2008-09.

Culver-Stockton College, founded in 1853, is located on a scenic bluff overlooking the Mississippi River, two hours north of St. Louis. With an average class size of 17, C-SC offers its students 23 majors, with art, athletic training, criminal justice and musical theater incorporated into the college's five divisions (business, education, fine arts, humanities, sciences). C-SC's semesters include a 12-week session and a three-week intensive learning course (EXP@CSC). Innovative choices include a photographic "safari" to the Grand Canyon, significant crimes in American history, designing a personal investment portfolio and performance in American Indian culture as well as study-abroad opportunities. In a recent placement study, 96.8% of C-SC graduates were employed full-time or in a graduate school six months following graduation.
