The Art of Recycling -- Using Items with a Past to Design New Homes

Lifestylist® Suzanne Felber teams up with @Home Builders and The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester, NY to show how you can recycle with style. Using only furniture, accessories, artwork and collectibles that have been donated to the Ronald McDonald House, Felber designs a home for the 2008 Homearama showcase that proves you don't have to spend a king's ransom to furnish your new home.

Rochester, NY (PRWEB) May 9, 2008 -- Great design never goes out of style, and the @Home Builders show home that will debut June 14, 2008 at this year's Homearama will prove that elegance doesn't have to be expensive.

Builder David Riedman of @Home Builders believes in the community he builds in and wanted to use this home to not only show how you don't have to buy all new furniture to make your new home look as good as the model home, but by recycling gently used items from thrift shops and sales you can help others. "I've seen the amazing services that the Ronald McDonald Houses offer to children and families in need in the Rochester area," stated Riedman "and I knew this was a group that was a perfect partnership for @Home Builders". Between @Home Builders sponsorship of the 2008 Red Tie Gala and the Homearama Home, Riedman's company will have raised over $10,000 for the Ronald McDonald House.

and after I was able to get the history of Mr. Coleman and the cameras I realized that we were very fortunate to be able to offer not only a beautiful collection of cameras, but we also had an important piece of Eastman Kodak and Rochester history.
Lifestylist® Suzanne Felber of The Home Idea Factory understands how important it is to incorporate lifestyle into a home. She often jokes that many of the items in her personal home could have more frequent flyer miles than she does, and can't imagine living in a home that doesn't include the items that she has collected over the years. "What I love about collecting and incorporating recycled items into what I do is researching and learning about where they came from and their histories. We will be offering part of a collection of Eastman Kodak cameras that was donated by the family of Leonard Coleman to the Ronald McDonald House," stated Felber, "and after I was able to get the history of Mr. Coleman and the cameras I realized that we were very fortunate to be able to offer not only a beautiful collection of cameras, but we also had an important piece of Eastman Kodak and Rochester history."

All items that are shown in the home will be for sale during an online auction that can be accessed at the @Home Builders website. Felber will be blogging about the progress of the home and giving a sneak peek of what will be offered in the home at her website at: Home Decorating Articles.
