Man Wins by a Hair During Tough Economic Times... Finds Answer to Financial Bailout by Looking in the Mirror
Long before Joe the Plumber poked his head up from underneath the sink, and way before Tito the Builder ever thought about hammering for Republican Party support on the campaign trail, Scott the Goatee Guy was already making his mark on America.
Little Rock, AR (PRWEB) November 2, 2008 -- Long before Joe the Plumber poked his head up from underneath the sink, and way before Tito the Builder ever thought about hammering for support on the Republican Party campaign trail, Scott the Goatee Guy was already making his mark on America.
Scott the Goatee Guy, who is that you might ask? Does he know Joe the Plumber? No, Scott Bonge is an inventor from Little Rock, Arkansas. He's an average, hardworking American who's just trying to make a living. Oh - That guy! Well if you haven't heard of him yet, you will.
Scott's journey to get his product on the market has been filled with ups and downs. Not only has his determination come from being unemployed, he has had the opportunity of experiencing life in the Soviet Union. He understands the disasters of big government. Several years ago, he worked to develop business there but found bureaucracy choked out any chances of success.
"What concerns me is that I see the same corruption developing in the U.S. government that was a way of life for the Soviets," Bonge says. "When you tax the people who are making money in order to 'spread the wealth' to those who are waiting on the government for a handout, the system breaks and it does not work."
As everyone waits to see what will happen during our own tough economic time, Scott knows it's going to take more than plumbers and builders to rebuild America. It is even going to take goatee guys, and Bonge says he wants to be among the first in line.
So far it's working. Bonge is a prime example of someone who is beating the odds at being successful in our nation's tough economic times. His idea of a financial bailout is invested in a dream that started by looking in a mirror. Scott sports a goatee and has for years. Not only does he know how important it is to keep his facial hair in shape, he knows how difficult it is to get it even on both sides of his face.
"Face it, you can't go into a job interview with a crooked goatee. You can't be taken seriously with a crooked goatee, and you certainly can't get a girl if you're single with a crooked goatee - unless she's a beautician," Bonge says. "I had to put my money where my mouth was, and come up with something to help guys like me look their best."
So this average Scott went to work. After all, he had the time. Like so many Americans, he had recently lost his job. Since his was a six-figure income hit, he started simple; Play-Doh and Popsicle sticks. His wife, Christy, became his helper. "She would literally mold dough over my face," Scott said. "Then we graduated to plaster. There were times I would literally have only a small hole to breathe through."
Ten molds later - success. An engineer later helped Scott give birth to what is now known as the GoateeSaver, goatee shaving template. For less than $20, any man, with any sized face, can have a perfect goatee every time he shaves. "Not only was it important for me to invent this product, it was also important for me to make it affordable enough for people to buy," Bonge says.
Since the GoateeSaver was released in June, the unique mouthpiece has been profiled on more than 1,500 websites. It has also been featured on several radio talk shows, television stations, newspapers and magazines around the globe. The GoateeSaver has also made a special guest appearance on late night talk show host Jay Leno's chin.
Bonge's latest accomplishment came in late September when the GoateeSaver went from exclusive sales online at www.goateesaver.com to retail availability when Drug Emporium in Little Rock added the product to its inventory. Right now, Scott is close to sealing a deal with several Wal-Mart stores in Arkansas. Perhaps Sam Walton would be proud that another hardworking American is out there trying to make a difference.
