The fictional blog is the creation of veteran TV writer/producer Mimi Schmir (Grey's Anatomy, Felicity, Party of Five). Amy Einhorn Books/Putnam purchased the world rights for the hardcover from Erin Malone at William Morris and will publish the untitled debut novel in 2009.
Following its launch, "Hot Flashes" quickly built an enthusiastic following and became a hot Hollywood property. The novel, BRIDGET JONES 15 years later, follows the rebirth of a feisty, recently divorced from her philandering husband, Esme as she works to reclaim her life as a newly-single and dating (beginning with Hot Birthday Party Dad), 40-something mother of two rambunctious boys (Roo and Mr. Handsome), while juggling a start-up catering business with BFF Annabelle and a blossoming career as a comic book writer.
