The Mark To Market Debate has a far reaching impact on all Americans
Chicago (PRWEB) October 6, 2009
Chicago-based strategic interactive advisory firm, Marcel Media outshined over 500 entries from eleven countries for the interactive communications work they did on behalf of their client, Performance Trust Capital Partners, to engage the financial community in the conversation about the Mark to Market Debate.
Recognition by the Summit International Awards is a respected industry-wide critique. The competition is a true measure of marketing communication effectiveness.
In addition to the website, marktomarketdebate.com, Marcel developed an optimized, branded YouTube channel that featured videos outlining the debate in layman's terms. They created a unique, interactive video blog, and used relevant, keyword-rich titles, descriptions and tags to drive traffic to the site. In addition, their Twitter profile spawned over 500 followers including the Obama Presidential Campaign, the Financial Times and WSJ Online.
Results among such a narrow possible audience, experts in financial services, were impressive. Since its launch, the site has received almost 10,000 visits, 40% of which were organic search engine visitors. Referral traffic was 25% of the sites total visitors and is on the rise.
"The Mark To Market Debate has a far reaching impact on all Americans," explains Rich Berg, CEO of Performance Trust. "It is an issue that many initially dismissed as some arcane accounting rule. However, how long-term assets are valued impacts the credit markets and businesses' ability to grow, consumers' ability to buy and our economy's ability to recover. We are proud of the role our communications played in bringing these issues to light and influencing Congress to hold hearings and the Financial Accounting Standards Board's decision to revise the rules to allow these assets to be accurately valued."
To follow up on their Mark to Market Debate success, the forward-thinking minds at Performance Trust Capital Partners and Marcel Media are launching a new initiative, theRatingsDebate.com. This site and the ensuing discussion will focus on the rating agencies and what should be changed, if anything, to restore investors' faith in how bonds and other securities are rated.
