Consultant, professor and author, Douglas Gehrman will be featured on Total Career Success, an internet radio show on VoiceAmerica Talk Radio Network, at 11 a.m. Central on Monday, January 5, 2009. The show is designed to inform listeners and encourage them to achieve their career goals by featuring experts who provide advice on job search and career advancement.
The topic of the show will address how to become a transformational leader. Doug Gehrman was most recently assistant professor of management and program director of the MS-Human Resources Management program at Houston Baptist University, where he taught courses on human resources management and leadership. Before joining Houston Baptist University, Doug was Managing Director for Bridge Consulting Group where he helped clients effectively manage change and develop leaders. Prior to his consulting and teaching years, Doug had a distinguished career leading human resources for major financial and energy companies culminating in his role as Executive Vice President. The lessons from his vast experience are distilled in his new book, Leadership for Life - Your Guide to Becoming a Transformational Leader.

For eleven years prior to forming Bridge Consulting Group, Doug Gehrman held the position of Executive Vice President, Human Resources with Van Kampen Investments, a Morgan Stanley company. Doug has additional experience in the mortgage banking business and over 20 years in the energy and petrochemical industries with Exxon, Imperial Oil in Canada, Shell Oil Company, and Reading and Bates Drilling Company. His early professional experience was with Aerojet-General Corporation, a defense contractor in California. Doug is a speaker at national conferences on the topics of mergers and acquisitions, knowledge management and compensation program, as well as leadership. His articles have appeared in professional journals and he recently published the book, Leadership for Life. Doug was a Board member of Sheltering Arms Senior Services for nine years and presently serves on the human resources committee. He is an Elder at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church and served as Clerk of Session and Chair of the Personnel Committee. Doug holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Arizona State University and an MBA from the University of California - Berkeley.
