UltimateBet Updates UBOC Schedule With More Accessible Championship Event

Online poker site reduces buy-in of first championship event slated for January 11, 2009. Final $1 million championship tournament scheduled for January 18, 2009, remains untouched.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) January 6, 2009 -- UltimateBet today announced that its $5,000+200 buy-in online poker tournament scheduled for 5:30pm ET on January 11, 2009 will be replaced by a more accessible $300+200 online poker tournament. The leading online poker site is making the change to the schedule of its UBOC online poker series in an effort to make the tournament more accessible to more players. The replacement 6-handed Championship No Limit Hold'em event will be guaranteed at $300,000, down from $1,000,000. No changes are planned for the final $1,000+50 UBOC Championship event scheduled for January 18, the guarantee of which remains at $1,000,000.

"We've listened to our players, modified our UBOC tournament schedule and repositioned one of our championship tournaments within reach of more online poker players," stated Annie Duke, UltimateBet's Cardroom Consultant. "With a $1 million Championship event and a $300,000 Championship event, our new UBOC schedule promises to thrill more players looking to be a part of the most exciting online championship series in poker."

UBOC 2009 gets underway on January 9 and is UltimateBet's biggest online tournament series yet. Featuring 22 guaranteed events, a final $1 million Main Event, and close to $2.5 million in guaranteed prize pool money, the 10-day series is destined to attract a large mix of players.

In keeping with the online poker site's commitment to let more poker players in on the excitement regardless of the size of their bankroll, UltimateBet has introduced Mini UBOC, a smaller series that runs parallel to the larger online championship series. With the exception of the two championship events, each UBOC event will be mirrored by a separate Mini UBOC event where players can buy in for approximately 10% of the corresponding UBOC event and compete for a lucrative prize pool.

UltimateBet's Online Championship series kicks off on January 9, 2009. The series features a mix of popular online poker games including No Limit Texas Hold'em, HORSE, Pot Limit Omaha, and more.
