Ceelox, the Tampa based biometrics and encryption software development firm, announces that the new version of their email encryption program, SecureMail™, now works with popular Web based email programs like Microsoft's Hotmail, Google's Gmail and Yahoo! Mail.

"Now everybody can encrypt their email," Gerry Euston, CEO of Ceelox said. "We are very excited about this for several reasons. The new version opens up the market potential for SecureMail to hundreds of millions of users."

The new SecureMail has a better "in the clear" message, enhanced online user Dashboard and added user reports. With the successful launch of SecureMail, Euston says "it officially moves SecureMail from the Beta stage to full implementation."

SecureMail is available for individual use at the Ceelox SecureMail website. Ceelox provides a free 30-day trial period. The program allows unlimited free decryption for all registered users. Subscribers can encrypt text, pictures and attachments from within Microsoft Outlook. If using a web-based email product, subscribers simply use SecureMail to encrypt the file prior to attaching it.

Euston thinks many organizations will want to host SecureMail on their own servers. "So far, seven states (Nevada, California, Texas, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Michigan and Washington) require businesses to protect personal and private customer information in some fashion," he says. SecureMail ensures that sensitive emails are encrypted end-to-end when in transit and while at rest on the user's email program.

With encryption regulations for financial institutions, healthcare and utilities on the rise, SecureMail helps ensure compliance. For example, regulation S24 of the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) requires that PHI delivered over the Internet or other known open networks be sent encrypted - the solution is Ceelox SecureMail.

About Email
Windows Live Hotmail is a free webmail service of the Windows Live brand provided by Microsoft. It has over 260 million users worldwide and is available in 35 different languages. Gmail is a free webmail service provided by Google. The service remains in beta status and has tens of millions of users. Yahoo! Mail serves over 260 million users

About SecureMail
SecureMail works with or without biometric fingerprint authentication. Using the minute radio frequency points of live finger pads with commonly available fingerprint scanners, SecureMail™ creates a unique user bio-template. It does not store a fingerprint image. The bio-template can eliminate the need for users to enter passwords or use both for true 2-factor authentication.
