The 2009 Thunder Editing Platform, which is available today, provides users with an integrated Panasonic P2 media ingest. "Direct P2 import will really streamline my editing workflow," said Jamie Guy, Director of Sports Video for the University of Colorado. "With Thunder I am able to import 40 minutes of video in six minutes which will save me hours editing practice, games, and quickly delivering content to our coaching staff."

XOS' clients have also experienced the benefits of P2 compatibility in SportsPro and Director this past season with the addition of the XOS Auto Ingest application. "I've used XOS Auto Ingest with my Game Day SportsPro System as well with Director to automate the ingest of all P2 media," said Matt Harper, Director of Video Operations for Northwestern University. "By adding Auto Ingest to my practice editing workflow I actually have time to make it out to the field to catch the few periods of practice."

Since 2006, XOS and Panasonic have collaborated on sports technology solutions for football and basketball. During the past year, P2 technology has been incorporated into all XOS coaching platforms. "We're excited to see XOS integrating P2 into the 2009 Thunder Editing Platform as well as implementing P2 compatibility with their legacy products, Director and SportsPro," said Dom Cicchetti, College Sports Manager for Panasonic Broadcast. "Our P2 technology enables video personnel to dramatically increase workflow efficiency, allowing more time for game preparation and less time spent ingesting video."
