Chris Blunt, Senior Vice President in Charge of New York Life's Retirement Income Security Business Elected to The American College's Board of Trustees

The American College announced today that Chris Blunt, Senior Vice President of Retirement Income Security (RIS) at New York Life has been elected to the institution's Board of Trustees.

Bryn Mawr, PA (PRWEB) January 12, 2009 -- The American College announced today that Chris Blunt, Senior Vice President of Retirement Income Security (RIS) at New York Life has been elected to the institution's Board of Trustees.

"Chris is an outstanding addition to our Board of Trustees," said Larry Barton, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of The American College. "His leadership and industry experience will help the College to be successful in an increasingly volatile financial services marketplace."

As senior vice president in charge of RIS, Blunt is responsible for all of New York Life's income and investment annuity businesses, long-term care insurance, and the distribution of mutual funds. In addition to these duties, Blunt is a member of New York Life's Executive Management Committee.

Blunt has held positions of increasing responsibility since joining New York Life in 2004, including serving as head of its MainStay Investments group, head of Retail Investments, and as chief operating officer of its Life and Annuity operations.

His broad professional experience includes stints as a Managing Director with Goldman Sachs, Chief Marketing Officer with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, and CEO of GivingCapital, Inc. Blunt started his career in financial services as a Financial Consultant for Shearson Lehman Brothers.

He holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
