Heart-Pounding Meets Heart-Warming In Latest Dekker Novel

New York Times Best-selling Author Ted Dekker teams up with first-time novelist and his long-time award-winning editor Erin Healy with the January 6th release of Kiss. This new novel it goes into the life of a woman with frayed and painful family relationships, and when an auto accident leaves Shauna McAllister's brother brain-damaged and erases her recent memories, she discovers she has a paranormal ability to steal memories from others, a capability that will either get her killed or unveil hidden sides of the very people she thought she could trust.

Nashville, Tenn (PRWEB) January 12, 2009 -- Ted Dekker is known for novels that combine adrenaline-laced stories with unexpected plot twists, unforgettable characters, and incredible confrontations between good and evil. In fact, four of his titles are currently being made into films.

Available January 6, 2009, Kiss is the New York Times best-selling author's most recent novel, and his first ever to be co-written with a woman--his long-time, award-winning editor Erin Healy. Healy is owner of WordWright Editorial Services, a Colorado-based consulting firm specializing in fiction book development. Kiss is her first novel. Erin is the director of the Academy of Christian Editors and former editor of Christian Parenting Today magazine.

Sometimes dying with the truth is better than living with a lie.

After a car accident puts Shauna McAllister in a coma and wipes out six months of her memory, she returns to her childhood home to recover, but her arrival is fraught with confusion. Her estranged father, a senator bidding on the White House, and her abusive stepmother blame Shauna for the tragedy, which has left her beloved brother severely brain damaged.

Leaning on Wayne Spade, a forgotten but hopeful lover who stays by her side, Shauna tries to sort out what happened that night by jarring her memory to life. Instead, she acquires a mysterious mental ability that will either lead her to truth or get her killed by the people trying to hide it. In this blind game of cat and mouse that stares even the darkest memories in the face, Shauna is sure of only one thing: if she remembers, she dies.
