By working closely with professionals we are able to provide streamlined workflow solutions for complex technical issues
Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) January 9, 2009
NetBlender today announced the launch of NetBlender Live, a BD Live solution that enables Blu-ray professionals to publish video and audio content to NetBlender's BD Live compliant servers through a streamlined authoring workflow.
With BD Live heralded as one of the keys to Blu-ray's ultimate success in the marketplace, NetBlender Live helps meet the demand in production for the growth of online features such as updateable trailers, dynamic Picture in Picture, downloadable bonus footage and more. The ultimate goal is to extend the reach of Blu-ray and create new revenue opportunities for Blu-ray production.
NetBlender Live is currently available to a select team of Blu-ray professionals on four continents who will advise the rollout of the online features and promote BD Live to consumers worldwide. The NetBlender Live Platform Team includes Noble Entertainment (Sweden), Sanshin Electronics (Japan), DVDesign GmbH (Germany), Promoscape Ltd. (Australia), CCI Digital (USA), Typecast Releasing (USA) and others.
"BD Live is fast becoming a standard for Blu-ray authoring so we at DVDesign are eager to offer these features to our clients," said Christoph Schmidt, Managing Director at DVDesign GmbH in Germany. "NetBlender's continued innovation gives independent Blu-ray facilities the opportunity to keep our Blu-ray services state of the art."
"We are really excited by the BD Live features NetBlender is developing as it will open new doors for us as an independent distributor" said Mats Skoglund of Noble Entertainment in Sweden.
Throughout 2008, movie studios demonstrated the value that BD Live brings to the Blu-ray format and consumers responded enthusiastically. However, implementing BD Live has been too difficult and expensive for producers and distributors who operate outside of the Hollywood mainstream. NetBlender Live will enable the larger worldwide Blu-ray authoring community to participate in this exciting technology.
"By working closely with professionals we are able to provide streamlined workflow solutions for complex technical issues," said John Harrington, NetBlender CEO. "NetBlender has traditionally incorporated feedback from content creators with every major technology release and NetBlender Live will be guided by the same principle - to provide practical solutions to the real-world needs of the Blu-ray community."
NetBlender Live will be available publicly in Q2 2009. NetBlender Live features will be integrated with NetBlender's popular Blu-ray authoring suite, DoStudio, in 2009.
"Integrating BD Live features with DoStudio will be truly welcomed by not only entertainment business, but also corporate users who always need to deliver the latest information to their customers," said Arty Kohata of Sanshin Electronics in Japan.
NetBlender (http://www.netblender.com) was founded in 2005 by a team of veteran producers of interactive media. The company creates platforms for the seamless blending of static and real time content in which each device performs its optimal role, resulting in the most enriching viewer experience. NetBlender strives to provide technical and practical leadership in the emerging new media universe.
NetBlender's DoStudio BD Authoring Edition (DSA) is a complete Blu-ray authoring tool that is designed specifically for DVD authors who are making the transition to Blu-ray Disc. Unlike prosumer Blu-ray tools that only provide DVD style menus, DSA is a full-spec Blu-ray authoring tool with built in pop-up menu creation.
