The VPX architecture supports high bandwidth data rates as well as full mesh and Daisy Chain Fabric Topology configurations. The 3U VPX Form Factor is primarily for Small Form Factor Defense Electronics and Embedded COTS Computing.
Hybricons new 3U VPX Backplane, is capable of supporting even the most challenging computer applications. This new backplane is ANSI/VITA 46.0 compliant and is able to support both VITA 46.10 RTM connectors as well as VITA 46.3 (SRIO) and VITA 46.4 (PCI Express).
The new 3U VPX Backplanes operate at -40°C to +85°C with storage from -55°C to +85°C. Recently, 3U VPX is being designed into an increasing number of applications, particularly for small form factors. 3U VPX features such as small size, high data throughput, and modest power dissipation make it an excellent choice for small form factor mobile applications.
