The Power of Market Research, a course that provides businesspeople the opportunity to learn how to use market research to make better business decisions, will be running at UCSC Extension in Cupertino, California the first quarter of 2009.

Jennifer Berkley, Owner and Founder of The Insight Advantage and a new member of the UCSC Extension faculty, will be teaching the class. As a customer research consultant, she brings a wealth of practical research experience to the class which will be helpful to students as they execute their own research projects over the course of the 6 week class.

During the class, students will gain knowledge, experience, and access to resources that they can apply immediately and use to integrate customer perspectives into key business decisions on products, services, branding, and more, to ensure market success.

"The interesting thing about this course is the practical emphasis of the course," said Athol Foden, President of Brighter Naming. "You may never need to actually do your own research even as a marketing professional. But you surely need to know how effective it can be. I loved hearing from earlier students how quickly they could gain dramatic insights into user needs, competitors and marketplaces without having to prove any statistical theorems."
