BoardsOnWheels.com's Upcoming One Year Anniversary is Punctuated with a New Blog

With so many people -- not just kids, but also adults -- addicted to video games and television, the majority of American society is lacking in exercise. For nearly a year, William Macris has done his part to help promote exercise through the American-borne sport of skateboarding. Recently, Macris has added a new informational blog to his site.

Burbank, CA (PRWEB) January 11, 2009 -- When independent business owner, William Macris, initially started an online business, he did so with the intention of offering something that would promote good health and fitness. Within a matter of time, Macris shifted the focus of his site to a youth oriented sport for which he had some accessories for, skateboarding.

"My son was a big skateboarder, so I was familiar with it and I liked the idea of really catering towards one audience," recalled Macris.

Macris then launched www.BoardsOnWheels.com in January 2008. Since his site's initial outing, he has added several products and now with a cache of over 1100 items, Macris is setting his sights on expanding his webstore.

Recently, BoardsOnWheels.com added a blog to their many features; www.SkateboardBlogShop.com features a variety of skateboard-related topics, such as product reviews and op-ed pieces about the sport and culture.

Though the addition of the new blog is a big step for the site, Macris still insists that his focus is on carrying the best products for the best prices.

"There's a ton of skateboarding equipment on the market, but we do some pretty effective research to narrow our selection to the best," he said. "Even with our selection process, we still have as many items as we do and at some of the best prices out there.

"The key thing here is that parents and caretakers should know that the products that we have will help in keeping kids safe,' he continued. "Cheap wheels and trucks that will break easily will do more harm to a child skateboarding than if you spent an extra $3 and purchased something of good quality."

In addition to carrying trucks and wheels, the site also sells decks, protective equipment, grip tape and instructional books and videos. Boards On Wheels even has completed decks - a feature that is typical of physical stores, but not of internet businesses.

"Skateboarding is an amazing sport and it really promotes a great cardiovascular workout, not just for kids, but adults too," said Macris. "I think that by offering the kind of deals that I have on my site, I'm making a contribution to help better the health of people all around."
