For a year, CarmensSpecialtys.com has been offering people the best deals for the largest selection of items from electronics to kids' games to home décor. To celebrate its first anniversary, site founder, Carmen Ortiz, launched a new blog.
Angleton, TX (PRWEB) January 11, 2009 -- While many online stores have formed to become specialty behemoths, independent business owner Carmen Ortiz took a different route. Last December, she launched her web store, www.CarmensSpecialtys.com, under the notion that she was building a one-stop shopping outlet for internet users.
For the site's one year anniversary, Ortiz is working on expanding the website's catalog, as well as adding a new feature to the site.
"For the first part of this improvement," began Ortiz, "we're looking into adding the XBox 360 and its games into our video game category."
But the biggest change for CarmensSpecialtys.com is the new blog that the site had attached to its repertoire.
The blog, www.CarmensSpecialtysBlog.com, features an array of posts such as product reviews, gift-giving advice and other hints for the average reader. "The blog is a fun way for us to express the different views of a gift giver and receiver," said Ortiz.
"It's also a great way for us to interact with other people and share ideas in regards to the products that we carry on our site," she added.
These days, many stores -- both online and brick-and-mortar -- look at their success by their profit margin, but not necessarily how they treat their customers. Ortiz is able to bypass this kind of callous business practice by looking at everything from a friendly and prudent standpoint:
"I don't sell anything for a price that I wouldn't pay for myself," she said. "I do what I can to satisfy the customers. I answer questions to the best of my ability and I make sure that when they hit the checkout button, they log off the website happy."
As shopping trends and habits change, for the average person, it's good to know that a one-stop shop like CarmensSpecialitys.com exists and with the addition of their new blog, the divide between business and customer won't be so wide anymore.
