Lenox Extendable Video Borescope Provides Lower Cost Alternative to Flexible Videoscopes in Long, Straight Inspection Applications

Lenox Instrument Company's new sectional, extendable videoscope offers a lower cost alternative to flexible video borescopes that many purchase unnecessarily for long straight visual inspection applications including turbine shafts, tubing, drill pipe, vessels and chambers, chemical reactors, hydraulic cylinders, heat exchangers, and aircraft landing gear.

Trevose, PA (PRWEB) January 13, 2009 -- Lenox Instrument Company, the manufacturer of the original borescope, today announced the Lenox Extendable Rigid Video Borescope with enhanced digital recording capabilities to the company's extensive line of rugged, high performance sectional, extendable borescopes.

"The new Extendable Video Borescope is less expensive than traditional flexible videoscopes and delivers uncompromised image quality in long, straight visual inspection applications," said Paul Lang, Vice President of Lenox Instrument Company.

The available color video mini camera attaches to the borescope's eyepiece to produce crisp, clear, high-resolution images. Images can be viewed and recorded on either a digital MP4, 20 GB hard drive video recorder/player with a high-resolution 7 inch display or on a digital video recorder/player with a high-resolution 7 inch display that stores images on 8mm tape or memory card.

"The availability of digital recording capabilities on our extendable borescopes further increases the versatility and range of applications," said Lang. "The added technology allows for more advanced inspections and before and after comparison and analysis."

The Lenox Extendable Video Borescopes are versatile instruments used to inspect internal surface areas in turbine shafting, tubing, drill pipe, vessels and chambers, chemical reactors, hydraulic cylinders, heat exchangers, aircraft landing gear, radioactive equipment, power generation equipment, process lines, vats, rocket casings, foundations of dams and structures, helicopters, tank cars and many more applications.

Lenox sectional, Extendable Video Borescopes are modular in design and allow the user to add extender sections to provide long working lengths up to 120 feet (36.6 m). The borescopes are available in diameters of 23, 35, 45, and 70 mm and deliver uncompromising image resolution to allow identification of flaws as small as 0.0005 in.

Various viewing heads like right angle, bottoming, retrospective, forward oblique and circumference are available for Lenox sectional, extendable borescopes. The circumference (panoramic) viewing head, which is designed to allow for rapid inspection of tubing or other cylindrical shaped structures, projects forward to view the wall at slanting incidence so a 360 degree band, several inches wide can be seen at a glance. A centrally located mirror provides a right angle view for more critical examination of the area just scanned by the panoramic view as the borescope is advanced.

Lenox sectional, Extendable Video Borescope systems with the added digital recording capabilities are a viable alternative to more expensive and labor intensive videoscope systems and, for many applications, offer users the advantage of being able to inspect large surface areas in less time.

Each Lenox sectional, Extendable Video Borescope system is designed, manufactured and serviced in-house by Lenox Instrument Company and is backed by a two-year warranty.
