The program was the brainstorm of two teenagers, Brittany and Robbie Bergquist from Norwell, MA. They were inspired after reading a story about a soldier running up a family's phone bill with a call he placed while in Iraq. Soon after reading the story Brittany and Robbie Bergquist started 'Cell Phone for Soldiers' with one clear goal—'to help connect our soldiers with their families while serving our country'.
