arminize me: The New Way Of Tweeding Links

Sharing links with micro blogging services gets easier with arm.in, a new free tool for shrinking & tweeding long urls.

Users of micro blogging services like twitter and identi.ca or social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn or XING know it: Sharing links with their followers & friends can get tricky when the url is simply exceeding the allowed message size.

The new service http://arm.in arminizes" long links into small ones using a simple technique: Every link gets a unique alias that contains a short combination of numbers and digits. A four character combination can address over 14 million different addresses, a five digit even nearly a billion!

Arminizing is not the only thing http://arm.in does (for free). Once a link is ready to be posted there is no need to visit twitter as the tool supports sending tweeds onsite which - together with the armin bokmarklet - makes sharing links a one-click-task.

As the service is brand new, the length of the urls is smaller than in most other places, simply because not that many people have used it. That's why a typical link is as short as http://arm.in/xx. At least so far ...
